SAMSUNG DESIGN
Samsung Electronics' Design Management Center is the world's largest design organization, currently employing more than 1,500 designers. Design has played a crucial role in Samsung Electronics' rise to the top of the global business arena and in maintaining its position. Samsung's design management has grown beyond the management of its design organization to lead product innovation, spread design culture, and contribute substantially to Samsung's business performance. All of Samsung Electronics' top executives have a high level of understanding of design and place great trust in the design organization. At the same time, they recognize design as a core partner of the company and utilize it as an important criterion in managerial decision-making processes. Historically, Samsung's 1993 “New Management Declaration” was the core of qualitative change in design and a catalyst for the rebirth of Samsung Electronics' design. Following this, Samsung declared 1996 as the “Year of Design Revolution,” and since then, it has continued to invest on a company-wide scale in the field of design, including establishing a design identity imbued with its own philosophy and spirit, and striving to nurture creative talent both domestically and internationally. As a result, design at Samsung Electronics is now recognized as the center of soft power, playing a core role in leading the company's vision and future history. Recently, as information has become more transparent and society has become highly intelligent, customers seek meaningful experiences through the use of products, beyond their functions or performance. In line with this trend, Samsung Electronics' design is opening a new chapter for future growth.

DESIGN DRIVEN PRODUCT INNOVATION
Samsung Electronics designers are deeply involved in the process of planning and designing new products from the very beginning. Until the mid-2000s, the role of design was focused on creating a visual identity for Samsung. At the time, as a latecomer to the home appliance industry, it was a practical choice to catch up with leading overseas companies. However, as Samsung has grown into a world-class company, the influence and role of design have expanded significantly. Designers are now deeply involved in the planning and development of mass-produced products, exerting a major influence on the direction of hardware and software. Additionally, through proactive design activities, they take on the role of leading the way in planning and proposing new products.
